We know that sangat has been anxiously waiting and doing ardaas for gurughar to open so that they could do “khule darshan deedar” of Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji. We want to let you know that SSG management is taking all steps under it’s control to safely open the gurdwara sahib. You will see new entry and exit patterns, please follow them. Since we are opening with limited capacity, we ask members to not take too long inside the building so that others could also perform their obeisance to Guru Sahib.

Below are the details of Shahidi Samagam to be observed on  Sunday, Jun 07 –

Akhand Path Sahib Prakash – Friday, Jun 05 at 10 a.m.
Nishaan Sahib Sewa – Sunday, Jun 07 at 10 a.m.
Akhand Path Sahib Bhog – Sunday, Jun 07 at 11 a.m.
Katha / Kirtan – Sunday, Jun 07 from 11 a.m. – 12:40 p.m.
Ardas and Bhog – Sunday, Jun 07 from 12:40 p.m. – 1 p.m.

Following restrictions will be in place – 

  • All persons (including children) attending religious services are required to wear face mask over their nose and mouth at all times.
  • Individuals attending religious services must practice physical distancing at all times and must maintain at least 6 feet distance from other people.
  • For health and safety of all sangat members, no one with a fever or symptoms of COVID-19, or known exposure to a COVID-19 case in the prior 14 days, is permitted in SSG premises.

Welcome to Singh Sabha Gurdwara

The Singh Sabha Gurudwara (SSG) was established in 1998 in Fairfax, Virginia USA. It is registered as a non-profit organization that is recognized as tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. As per SSG constitution, Sri Akal Takht Sahib is supreme body of the Sikhs, and any Hukamnama from Sri Akal Takht Sahib will automatically become an addendum To the SSG By-laws without regard to a formal amendment of the By-laws.

The SSG is open to Sangat every day. Every week three Diwans are held on Sunday morning, Wednesday night and Saturday night. Attendance at SSG functions is open to the Sangat irrespective of caste, creed, color, race, sex, national origin, or religion provided they wear proper attire and show proper respect to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

A private function can be organized at Singh Sabha after consultations with the Management.

Organizational Structure

Singh Sabha Gurdwara is managed according to the the SSG Constitution and the By-Laws. The five member MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE manages the day to day affairs of the organization.

The thirty one member COUNCIL is the larger governing and decision making body of the Singh Sabha Gurdwara. The council meetings are held monthly on the first Sunday of the month. Emergency meetings can be schedules by the Council Coordinator as needed.

The GENERAL BODY is the ultimate governing and decision making body, under which the COUNCIL and the MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE works. The general body meetings are held Quarterly on the first Sunday of March, June, September and December. Anybody from the Gurdwara sangat can become the member of the GENERAL BODY as long as the member qualifies under the SSG Constitution.
